What Fougère Mania smells like
Fougère Mania is the bolder, more amplified fougère composition in our line. Where Fougère Bouquet is the classical version, Fougère Mania pushes the structure further — louder, more confident, made for the fougère lover who wants more.
Neroli forward with notes of Lavender, Amber, Oakmoss, Coumarin, Tonka Bean, Musk, and Labdanum. Hops Extract is added to provide biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic providing relief for inflammation and prevention of spider veins. Omega-6 Linoleic Acid and Omega-3 Linolenic Acid, the only long chain fatty acid which the body needs but cannot synthesize have long been recognized as essentials for healthy looking skin.
The fragrance is built on Lavender, Amber, Oakmoss, Coumarin, Tonka Bean, Musk, and Labdanum. The opening is brightest, the heart settles in around the twenty-minute mark, and the dry-down lasts for hours after the rinse.
Tallow or Vegan — which to pick
Fougère Mania is offered in two builds. They share the same fragrance compound (so the scent journey is identical) but the fat structure underneath is different.
Tallow ($29.99) is the original Siero formulation. The conditioning is denser; the lather has more body. If you’ve shaved with WhollyKaw Siero soaps before, this is the same direction.
Vegan ($21.99) swaps tallow for plant-derived fats (kokum, shea, cocoa, mango). Same fragrance compound, lighter lather body, brighter and cleaner under the razor.
Who Fougère Mania is not for
Honest limitations:
- Fragrance-sensitive skin. Fougère Mania has a real fragrance load. If our unscented Bare Naked Shaving Soap (Tallow build) or Sans Parfum Vegan Shaving Soap (Vegan build) is what your skin tolerates, this isn’t the soap to switch to.
- Strict dairy allergies. Tallow builds contain saponified dairy proteins. Most contact-dermatitis reactions to dairy are with raw milk, not saponified milk soap, but if you have severe sensitivities, test a sample before committing to a puck.
- Looking for a designer-fragrance clone. Fougère Mania is its own composition, not an interpretation of a popular fragrance.
- Pucks-as-decor shavers. The puck is meant to be used. The fragrance is most expressive in the lather; sniffing the puck doesn’t do it justice.

Polarizing scent, great base... WOULD RECOMMEND!
Great soap... I could see how the scent would be a little polarizing though - Personally, it grew on me as I used it more. It's definitely floral forward with muted lavender, that quickly transitions to funky musk, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Overall, I really like the scent, but ultimately scent preferences are very subjective! The actual performance of the serio base is amazing. The razor really glides and the post shave is super comfortable. I will be trying out more WK serio scents in the future!
